Looking just beyond the street you can see from a distance a small castle. A closer inspection reveals a formidable defensive building : The Barbakan.
I is a fortified outpost once connected to the city walls. It is a historic gateway leading into the Old Town of Kraków. You can reach the Stare Miasto across the Brama Florianska, that marks the end of the city center.

The Rynek Glowny is its focal point, with almost everything in half an hour's walk of it.
The square, that was the largest in Europe, is devided in 2 main area by the beautiful Renaissance building of the Cloth Hall ( Sukiennice ) , replacing a Gothic market.

The south-west coner of the square is dominated by the Gothic tower, crowened by a Baroque cupola of the City Hall Tower.

On the northeastern corner of the square there is the twin-towered St Mary Church ( Kisciol Mariaki), one of the finest rappresentation of Gothich Polish style.

At first impression, the curch seems a cavernous. gloomy expanse. The light coming from the above windows on the altar is very dim.

The Wavel is Krakow's symbol.
You can reach the top of the hill by the numeros paths that from the bottom converge to the 2 main entrance.

The eastern half of the Wawel is occupied by the castle , that seems a calssical Italian palazzo.

On the sudest side of the city, in the district of Zablocie there is the Oskar Schindler's factory.
All building is dedicated to the nazi occupation of Krakow, with a couple of rooms are about the nazi business man.SPOILER (clicca per visualizzare)Nella parte sudest della città, nel quartiere di Zablocie, ci sono i resti della fabrica di Oskar Schindler.
